I have been working in corporate communications and related fields for six years and I'm loving every minute of it. When I entered the workforce, I quickly realized that communication is my true passion so I dove in head first. I am particularly interested in digital, internal, and stakeholder communications.
Originally from Delhi, Ontario, I moved to London, Ontario in 2010 to study English and writing at the University of Western Ontario. Upon my graduation, I began working at Public Sector Digest in business development. It was through my work that I discovered my love of communications. I built relationships with clients, designed posters, brochures and promotional materials. I was also responsible for spearheading the monthly external company newsletter.
Eventually I left my role to return to school and study public relations and corporate communications at Fanshawe College. During my time at Fanshawe I further developed my writing, design, and relationship building skills. I became well versed in industry jargon and began to spread my roots in London.
When I completed my program at Fanshawe I returned to Western as an employee with the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences (CNS) at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. I managed all Department communications both external and internal I managed the Department website and social media while also coordinating a bi-weekly bulletin called "The CNS ReMINDer".
In 2018 I made the move to Simcoe County and have joined the team at Friday Harbour Resort in Innisfil. I am a member of the marketing team and am responsible for coordinating the overall communications strategy for the Resort and all departments within it.
I have also joined the Board of Directors of the Kempenfelt Community Players as the Director of Marketing and Media Relations. In this volunteer role, I have overhauled the company's marketing and media relations strategy, developed new relationships with local media partners and drawn crowds of thousands to theatrical productions yielding the highest revenues the company has ever seen.
As my social media will show you, I have three cats and a dog, and I love to cook and entertain. I am a movie trivia enthusiast and am happy to go toe-to-toe with fun film facts.
